Soft Lens Material
Hioxifilcon A
Hioxifilcon A, a soft lens material, is an ultra high molecular weight copolymer of 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate (2-HEMA) and 2,3-Dihydroxypropyl Methacrylate. Used to create our Satureyes, Satureyes Lite, and Satureyes Torics lenses, this premium performance material is a 59 percent water uptake plastic which exhibits extreme water retention and excellent deposit resistance. Hioxofilcon A keeps the eye saturated during wear due to it’s ability to maintain moisture, which makes it the material of choice for those with dry eye problems or performing intense near tasks such as computer work. It is available in clear and a pleasant blue handling tint.
Polymacon
Polymacon, a soft lens material, is a hydrophilic polymer of 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate(2-HEMA) cross linked with ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate. Used to create our Metrosoft II, MetroSoft Torics, MetroFocal, MetroFocal Torics, MetroLite and MetroTint lenses, this proven material is a 38 percent water uptake plastic which is highly stable with exceptional mechanical strength. Polymacon has a highly pliable nature which provides excellent comfort, and due to it’s elasticity in the hydrated state, it returns to it’s original shape after deformation. It is available in clear and a pleasant blue handling tint.
