ComfortKone is the most advanced lens for keratoconus in any stage. The
ComfortKone difference lies in its design. After compiling years of data, Metro
Optics consultants produced a system that is based on radius changes rather than
eccentricity values. The result is a design philosophy that allows consistent
and straight-forward keratoconus fitting.
Great fits are typical with the ComfortKone fitting system. The lens
incorporates a small spherical optical zone that fits the peak of the cone and
provides the patient with excellent vision. ComfortKone then flattens into an
aspheric curve and aligns with the cornea, offering a comfortable fit many
patients are thankful to have.
A comprehensive ComfortKone fitting guide can be downloaded from this web page,
or an entire information packet can be requested via telephone, fax, regular
mail or email.
ComfortKone can also be produced in both toric and asymmetric toric designs.
This allows for fitting corneas that were highly astigmatic prior to the onset
of keratoconus, or those that have developed pellucid marginal or other types of
corneal degeneration.

The basis for the ComfortKone fitting system revolves
around the observation that most keratoconus patients require the same
primary fitting curves as a conventional lens patient.
